The Bay of Plenty is home to 13 of New Zealand’s finest golf courses. Tauranga boasts a number of these, including a fantastic course in Greerton.
Mount Maunganui Golf Club and Omanu Golf Club are other great options in the area of Silver Birch Holiday Park and Motel to go and play a few rounds.
A bit further away you will find Te Puke Golf Club and just past Whakatane, at about an hours drive is Ohope Golf club, a popular links course with the ocean on one side and the beautiful harbour on the other.
All these golf courses welcome casual players but it is recommended to check the availability before you go. Most courses have club hire and carts available.
Also good to know is that New Zealand is renowned for very inexpensive green fees. Enjoy the beautiful park-like courses before heading back to the ‘19th hole’ for a cold one!
